Casa Menina Mulher
Transforming lives

For more than three decades, we have welcomed and protected girls in vulnerable situations, providing education and learning opportunities for a dignified future.

A Space for Learning and Hope

Casa Menina Mulher was born from the dream of creating a place where girls facing social vulnerability could find dignity and the chance to build a future with more opportunities.

Guidelines that Shape Our Work

Our work is guided by our Safeguarding Policy, the Recife Municipal Plan, and Brazil's Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA).

Safeguarding Policy

We adopt clear guidelines to prevent risks, protect children and adolescents, and direct the institutional response in situations of concern.

  • Comprehensive protection for children, adolescents, and people in vulnerable situations.
  • Prevention of abuse, exploitation, and all forms of violence.
  • Mandatory conduct for staff, volunteers, and partners, with a response workflow.
  • Action aligned with ECA (Law No. 8,069/1990).

Municipal Plan to Combat Sexual Violence and Exploitation of Children and Adolescents

Aligned with Recife's Municipal Plan (2024-2034), overseen by COMDICA, we strengthen cross-sector prevention, protection, and response actions against violence and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.

  • Reference to COMDICA (Conselho Municipal dos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente do Recife) as the social oversight body.
  • Coordination among social assistance, health, education, Conselho Tutelar, public safety, and the justice system.
  • Identification, intake, and referral workflows to reduce revictimization and strengthen comprehensive protection.
  • Monitoring of goals, ongoing staff training, and social participation in addressing rights violations.
  • Action aligned with ECA (Law No. 8,069/1990).

Our Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Casa Menina Mulher works strategically and is committed to the UN 2030 Agenda, directly contributing to progress on the SDGs in contexts of high social vulnerability.

SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-Being

We promote comprehensive care and emotional well-being for children and adolescents, especially those affected by violence.

SDG 5 - Gender Equality

We work directly to address sexual and gender-based violence, still an alarming reality in Brazil, with thousands of cases reported every year (SINAN and Disque 100).

SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities

Our work also advances SDG 11 by strengthening protection networks and safe community life across local territories.

SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

We promote human rights and systematic responses to violence against children and adolescents.

SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals

We build partnerships with civil society organizations, public authorities, and international bodies, expanding impact and extending the reach of our actions.
